Curriculum

Kids first (15 of 22)Kid’s First provides a balanced and comprehensive curriculum that supports each child’s natural curiosity and drive to discover the world around them. We take an integrated approach that supports children’s natural passion for learning and strives to meet the individual needs of each child. Because children learn by doing our program is hands-on and includes all aspects of a developmentally based preschool program.

Our goal is to create lifelong learners. School is an important part of a child’s life. It is the place where a child can begin to learn, ask questions and explore the environment around them. As they grow children learn to exchange ideas with others and thus expand their social and intellectual range of experience.

Kids first (4 of 22)Infants and toddlers are cared for in a warm and nurturing environment. As we get to know each child we are assessing them to develop plans for their development. Our caregivers are trained specialists in providing nurturing individual care and bonding. Healthy early attachment determines how he feels about himself and how he relates to others

We understand teachers are significant figures for children and play an important role in their development. Our teachers appreciate this and are trained to facilitate the social and emotional development of our students through quality and enriching interactions. We provide a foundation for successful early language development through these quality interactions with our teachers.

Kids first (8 of 22)Children ages 2 ½ to 5 years of age are taught using the High/Scope Preschool Curriculum. Teachers implement the principles of the approach by arranging and labeling the learning environment, establishing a consistent daily routine that includes the plan-do-review sequence and small and large group activities. Teachers engage in supportive adult-child interactions that enhance and extend children’s learning. Using program criteria, teacher do regular assessments of the progress of each student.

Kids first (9 of 22)Our school-aged program revolves around individual as well as small and large group activities. We offer recreational opportunities that include air hockey, foosball, karaoke, board games and a terrific playground. We also have a computer lab. When students come to our center after school we give them a nutritious snack, set them up to do their homework and then let them enjoy the recreational opportunities we offer.
